Frequently Asked Questions

My player is new can they play on the younger team to gain experience?

Players need to play on the appropriate age group. We are not allowed to let players go down an age group due to FYSA and US Youth Soccer mandates. If you want your player to play up a level, they will need special permission please contact our board to discuss options.

I see young referees at games how can my player become a referee?

We have a long tradition of helping young referees become successful at SYAA. To become a referee, you must first be 13yo. There is a online course and a test they need to pass. it helps to understand and have a love for the game of soccer. There is a cost associated but often we will help with that and once certified they can make between $25 to $75 per hour!!! CASH!!! Contact the board for more information.

When does the season start and end?

Practices for the Recreational season usually begin in October with games starting in November.

The end of the season depends on the plans for the league's final tournament but typically the end of February with a few older teams advancing into the finals in March.
